Awards and Recognition

The Credit Union Association of Oklahoma's Awards & Recognition program is a wonderful opportunity to honor those in the movement who demonstrate a sincere passion for the cause.

On the State and National level, CUAOk offers several award programs to honor outstanding leadership among Oklahoma credit union professionals and volunteers. The available awards include:   

    Annual Meeting Awards

    Troy Higgins Political Activist Award
    The Troy Higgins Political Activist Award was established to recognize those dedicated to the political movement of credit unions.

    Distinguished Service Award
    The Distinguished Service Award was established to recognize excellence in credit union philosophy and contributions to the Oklahoma credit union movement.

    Lifetime Achievement Award
    The Lifetime Achievement Award was established to recognize excellence in credit union philosophy and contributions to the Oklahoma credit union movement.

    Professional of the Year Award
    The Professional of the Year Award was established to recognize accomplishments, time and effort in support and promotion of the credit union movement by professionals.

    All CUAOk Award nominations must be received by April 19, 2013.


    CUNA Awards

    Desjardin Adult Education Award
    The Desjardins Adult Financial Education Award recognizes model credit union/chapter efforts to teach personal finance concepts and skills to members and nonmembers age 18 and older.

    Desjardin Youth Education Award
    The Desjardins Youth Financial Education Award recognizes model credit union efforts to teach personal finance concepts and skills to members and nonmembers under age 18.

    Dora Maxwell Award
    The purpose of the Dora Maxwell Award is to promote social responsibility among credit unions by formally recognizing their community service achievements.

    Louis Herring Award

    The purpose of the Louise Herring Award is to promote credit union philosophy by formally recognizing credit unions that demonstrate in an extraordinary way the practical application of that philosophy for their members.

    Nomination forms and guidelines will be posted early in 2013.
