If an ATM was purchased before 2010, it probably doesn’t meet the new regulation’s standards. Because financial institutions must ensure that disabled members are not treated differently, your credit union is required to provide auxiliary devices to assist them. The ADA mandates new specific requirements for ATM speech output, privacy, tactilely-discernible input controls, display screens, and Braille instructions, in addition to general-accessibility requirements regarding height restrictions and maneuverability space for wheelchairs. =0D=0A=0D=0A =0D=0A=0D=0AThe only compliance exception is if the credit union’s compliance would result in an “undue burden.” This term is specifically defined in the new regulations and is difficult to meet. Anyone who believes they have been subject to discrimination based on non-compliance with the ADA has the right to bring a private lawsuit against your credit union or a class action suit on behalf of all similarly-situated persons. In addition, the Attorney General can initiate an investigation or ADA-compliance audit. =0D=0A=0D=0A =0D=0A=0D=0AJoin us to learn the general accessibility requirements, the new specific requirements, the limited exception, and recommendations on how your credit union can achieve compliance with the ADA’s ATM requirements. =0D=0A=0D=0A =0D=0A=0D=0A HIGHLIGHTS =0D=0A=0D=0A > Detailed explanation of the general rules and the new specific ADA requirements for ATMs =0D=0A=0D=0A > Practical solutions to help your credit union achieve compliance with the ADA requirements =0D=0A=0D=0A > What to do if your ATM location is leased =0D=0A=0D=0A > Understand the limited exception and how to qualify for it =0D=0A=0D=0A > How your credit union can analyze the ADA requirements, costs of compliance, and create a compliance plaN =0D=0A=0D=0A =0D=0A=0D=0A *To register for this webinar, click here. =0D=0A=0D=0A =0D=0A=0D=0AFor more information, please contact Carrie Buchholz at: =0D=0A=0D=0A(P) 405.702.8622 ext. 215 =0D=0A=0D=0A(E) carrie@cuaok.org =0D=0A=0D=0A =0D=0A=0D=0A
