NCUA has responded to the increasing number of credit union failures with heightened regulatory scrutiny and requirements in an effort to protect the safety and soundness of the industry. The supervisory committee is ultimately responsible for ensuring “that the credit union adheres to the measurement and filing requirements for reports filed with the NCUA Board under section 741.6.” This includes NCUA call reporting and compliance with generally-accepted accounting principles.
