Are You Lending Like a Bank or Like a Credit Union?
Brett Christensen, CU Lending Advice, LLC

Does your credit union love to make loans, or does it just love to make loans to members with good credit? According to the Fair Isaac Corporation, 25 percent of the U.S. population now has a FICO credit score below 600 (i.e. subprime). Members with bad credit need a car to get to work. Members with bad credit can choose to pay their credit union.

Learn how to successfully make loans to members with sloppy credit. Banks were formed to serve the wealthy. Credit unions were formed to serve the working class. You will leave this session with the specific tools and motivation to help make loans to more of your underserved credit union members.
