CUAOk Legislative Visit with Speaker-Designate T.W. Shannon

T.W. Shannon is a 6th generation Oklahoman and 3rd generation Lawtonian.  T.W. is an enrolled member of the Chickasaw Nation.  He is a former Congressional Staffer having worked for U.S. Representatives JC Watts and Tom Cole.  He is now an Oklahoma Representative of District 62.

Several credit union leaders, along with lobbyists Nate Webb and Bobby Stem, attended a breakfast to hear Speaker-designate Shannon¹s insights on the current political environment, upcoming legislative session and what he hopes to accomplish as speaker. He encouraged credit union leaders to develop a relationship with their state legislators.  Shannon made it clear that he wanted to hear from us and that he is committed to keep a line of communication through Capitol Gains.  In closing, Shannon described how he reviews bills once he receives them-what problem is the bill addressing and will this bill correct the problem.
